The fee
for each regular 8 week class is $185.00, plus 25.00 Lab Fee. This tuition covers 25 lbs. of clay (instructors preference. Each instructor will advise students of any tools needed for the class; these tools may be purchased at Zen And Now Clay Studio. Additional class clay may also be purchased from Zen And Now Clay Studio or Stone Mountain Clay & Glaze Company. Includes one extra week at end of class to complete any work already in progress. A posted class session of different lengths will be priced as a mathematical division of the costs above.

All Zen And Now Clay Studio courses run for eight or four consecutive weeks unless otherwise noted. Each class meets once per week, the dates of each class are listed belowr. All Zen And Now Clay Studio adult classes are for adults ages 13 and over (younger admitted with parental enrollment or with special teacher permission). Children's classes are for ages 6-12.

Zen And Now Clay Studio classes are limited to ten (10) students per session.
Spaces are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Each adult class is 2 -1/2 hours in length. This time includes set-up/break-down time. Rain checks are not guaranteed for missed classes, makeups will only be granted if applicable space is available in another of your instructors' class periods and only one make-up per semester. Makeup must be claimed during same session block.

Open Studio Members pay just 75.00 plus 25.00 Lab Fee per month for complete studio access. Monthly Membership includes one 25 pound bag of clay, one full shelf, use of all studio glaze and underglaze for work produced during your paid month. We do not place a limit on the amount of pieces you may create or fire within your month of studio rental, but will have certain limits on size. All other clays and glazes used in our studio must be purchased from Stone Mountain Clay & Glaze Company.

Full, 5-shelf storage racks are available for rent by the month for 50.00.
These are 5-shelf metal wire racks that are stored in our locked warehouse area where you may store your work, tools and supplies. Only paid rack renters are allowed in this secure area of our studio.

Registrations for any 8 or 4 week course includes: Hands-on instruction, 25 lbs of clay, free Open Studio access during the term of the class, personal storage shelf, use of all studio glaze and underglaze.

Whether you are a Student or Monthly Open Studio Member, you will find a time that is convenient for you to come in and practice or work on your next masterpiece! Zen And Now Clay Studio provides a friendly, relaxed, fun and informative atmosphere to learn and work in all clay avenues. Expert help is available whenever you feel the need for rescue or advice.

Watercolor, 4 week class

(Beginning): 
Learn to watercolor! All the fundamentals you will need to learn in a relaxed, fun atmosphere with organized lesson plans that will guide you. Each week builds on the week before with techniques and tricks to make learning logical and very do-able. 80.00 (see tab on left for supply lists) / 4 weeks.

Drawing, 4 week class

(Beginning):

Class Desctiptions

Throughout different sessions, Zen And Now Clay Studio will offer courses in the following areas:


1. Hand-building & Extruding (Beginner): Hand-building techniques such as coil, slab, pinch and extruding will be covered. A very good first clay experience.

2. Hand-building/Modeling (Intermediate): Requires at least one class term of hand-building experience. Learn to construct larger, intricate hand-built pieces. Experience and use multiple, combined techniques.

3. Wheel-Thrown Pottery (Beginner): Requires no experience in throwing. Learn to center, pull a cylinder and make basic shapes on the potter's wheel.

4. Wheel-Thrown Pottery (Beginner/Intermediate): Suitable for beginners and a good development course for those with some throwing experience.

5. Wheel-Thrown Pottery (Intermediate): Requires at least one class term of experience in throwing (some hand-building experience recommended). Learn to make and attach handles and spouts and make lids for your thrown pieces.

6. Wheel-Thrown (Advanced): Master lids, handles, attachments and altering forms.

7. Monthly Membership: Independent study, must have prior experience (at least know the basics). We have a special throwing room available for use when classes are in session. First come, first served.

8. Open Studio: Times available for practice for students and members. We have a special throwing room available for use when classes are in session. First come, first served.
